Blaque Wedding Day Expo was designed out of the mind and hearts of its creator Sakira Dillard. A seasoned event planner and owner of A Wedding By Design, Ms. Dillard has spent countless hours with brides and their families. Over the many years of working with brides of all races and nationality, we have found that while there are an abundance of bridal shows and expos around the Chicago land area, many if not all tend to ignore the specialized needs of the multi-cultural bride and groom.

We wanted to showcase the diverse and uniquely different aspects of the many races and cultures found in Chicago. In our “Visual Feast Fashion Show will show you how to incorporate your individual color and style in your wedding dress and wedding décor. We are offering “Wedding Day Boot Camp for those of you who want or need to plan your own wedding. Thus, the Blaque Wedding Day Expo was born. Born out of need to showcase, educate and delight the multitude of multi-cultural brides-to-be which can be found in the diversity community.

With this new and different take on planning a wedding, we will offer our attendees the opportunity to come and see what’s new, what’s the latest and what can you do to create a day that is uniquely you!

New to the bridal expo seen at the Blaque Wedding Day Expo is a focus on the groom, the forgotten participant. We feel that it’s his day too and we are offering a special portion of our event just for him. So come to BWE and learn how to create a day that is just your day!
